Volunteer

Our volunteers are everything.
Family Kitchen wouldn't be anywhere without our volunteers. They bring their heart, soul, skills, time, humor, smiles, kindness and respect that make true nourishment happen!
We have volunteer opportunities every day of the week, every week of the year. It is easy to sign up, just visit our signup platform, Volunteer Local, to get started. If you run into any issues, please email our Volunteer Coordinator for assistance!
Wednesday Prep Squad Update:
Our last Prep Squad (2:30-4:30pm Wednesdays) is 5/27/26!
After May, students (and chaperones) will be encouraged to sign up for shifts via VolunteerLocal.
Students can also organize off-site volunteer hours by hosting a food drive or raising money for FK. Please reach out to Tori if you have any questions!
Minor Policy:
-
8-15 years old volunteers require a chaperone
-
1 adult may chaperone up to 2 kids.
-
16+ year olds do not require a chaperone, but do need to have an adult guardian sign the waiver before volunteering
-
Limit of 6 minors during meal shifts
What Does Volunteering Look Like?
Family Kitchen offers a wide variety of days, times, locations, and ways to volunteer. We pride ourselves on flexible options to accommodate a range of ages, abilities, and group sizes
Most shifts include prep, cooking, making meals (both to go and dine-in), serving, and cleaning up. We also have dishwashing, meal delivery, grocery pick-up, and more!
When volunteering during a meal service, youth under 18 years of age are required to be accompanied by a guardian.
